Featured Pets for Adoption: Cats and Dogs

Most of this month's featured pets have been photographed and sponsored by Sheri at Petraits.com. Thanks, Sheri for your wonderful work!

We also partner with Tree House Animal Foundation--see their current featured cats for adoption below.

Rain sponsored by petraits.com

Rain is a playful, loving, affectionate and very beautiful two year old long-haired Tortoiseshell cat looking for a wonderful new home. She is living in a foster home with other cats and an active child and is extremely tolerant and well-behaved with everyone she meets.

Rain is as sweet as she is fluffy. She is extremely healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, virus-tested and dewormed.

To meet and possibly adopt Rain, please contact her foster mom Mars at theartofmars@yahoo.com or 773-430-6277. Her adoption fee of $100 benefits the rescued cats of Precious Pets Almost Home Rescue Group.

Pottawatamee at Tree House Animal Foundation  Thistle at Tree House Animal Foundation

Pottawatamee (left) & Thistle (right) are ready for adoption at Tree House Animal Foundation's Bucktown and Uptown locations.

Pottawatamee, born in June 2007,  is a whirling dervish of a cat! This playful, rambunctious little rascal loves to wrestle! He spends much of his day chasing his 'room-cats' around trying to get them to engage in a little hi-jinx. It doesn't always go over very well (some of the cats he shares space with are older or much more low-key) but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be the perfect companion for another high spirited kitty!

Thistle is a very easy going boy who enjoys attention but seems a bit stressed by the shelter environment. Thistle tends towards the quiet side, spending most of his time curled up in a nice secluded spot by himself. He will gladly let you disturb him in exchange for some petting, or playtime, which he loves. Thistle is a sweetheart whose idea of demanding attention is to stoically sit on the sidelines looking handsome until you notice him. Thistle does have some chronic sneezing and nasal discharge but does not require any medicine for this.
